Third times a charm!
This is my third attempt to start a blog. Every marketing class I attend insists that I need one! Honestly, I do have a long list of ideas I would love to write about and information I want to post for my clients, but until December of 2017, I was working two jobs. Part of my responsibility at my “real job” was to write a weekly newsletter and post the main story to a blog. Even though the content of that blog was totally unrelated to my photography business, by the time I got around to writing for myself, I never seemed to have the time or energy to make mine interesting. Trying to “ride two horses” was draining mentally, physically, and creatively. I realized several months back that the “straddle” had become too much and decided it was time for me to retire from my job. It was not an easy decision. I loved my job, I loved the crazy, eclectic group of people that I worked with, and I loved my boss, who I had worked for 18 years. After a lot of thought and prayerful consideration the decision was obvious. I have a rapidly growing photography business that needed my full time and attention. I also have two grandbabies and knew that I wanted to be more available for them. Life is short and I’m no spring chicken! There are days when I still think that starting a new career and new business in my 50’s is insane. But I stinking LOVE this business and I’m passionate about my art.
As I begin this next journey in my life, I invite you to come along for the ride. Perhaps you’ll pick up a few tips and tricks along the way or maybe I’ll inspire you to follow your own passion! In the mean time, I would love to sit down and chat with you about your next portrait session! I invite you to browse my portfolio and contact me for a free consultation.
